She’s been dead a week now forgot to tell OPPO. It dropped cylinder 5. Broken valves and trashed the cam shaft. I guess 13k in repairs in the last 20 months wasn’t enough. Got an infiniti Q50 3.0T. Been fun I’ll write about it later.

Is the Promaster the worst vehicle ever made?

Are Promasters just a special breed of bad, because everything else with the 3.6 seems to be pretty reliable.

Was wondering the same thing - next time I hear something good about their reliability will be the first time.

Dang! based off of those repair costs, I am guessing it is time for a new truck. The Nissan NV has a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty. That should cover you for 2 years worth of mileage.

Yes. I’ve burned up a hundred fifty thousand plus miles in 2 minivans and literally never had one issue but something about sticking it in a ProMaster turns it into a complete turd

Maybe it’s something to do with heat or something? These vans weren’t designed for engines (and transmissions?) this big. In Europe they are only offered with 4 cylinder diesels and mostly (only?) with manual transmissions. I haven’t heard any stories of absurd reliability problems here and this body style has been on the market for a decade+ now. The issue seems to be restricted to North America and the Chrysler drivetrain.

Jeeze. Time for a Chevy Express.
